MISSION STATEMENT

Wetovick Purebreds began with the purchase of a bred Hampshire gilt in 1975 as an FFA project. Early on, our primary objective was to produce boars to be used in commercial herds. As the quality of the herd progressed, we began to sell boars and gilts to purebred breeders across the country. While we still sell purebred boars and gilts, as well as commercial boars, our emphasis has shifted to the production of showpigs. I am a firm believer that in order to produce high quality showpigs you must obtain the best purebred genetics available. This is the reason we strive to continually upgrade our purebreds as a means to also improve the quality of our crossbred showpigs.

HAMPSHIRES

Here at Wetovick Purebreds our goal is to preserve old time genetics which were used by Newlin and Earnhardt herd along with contributions from Bierman & Swenson breeding programs. To accomplish this goal we intend to linebreed using frozen semen to resurrect bloodlines noted for superior productivity and longevity. Part of our strategy includes tapping into the genetics of Tom Biermans top sows as well as his Newlin boars.

MISSION STATEMENT

Wetovick Purebreds began when we started AI’ing cows in the summer of 1973. Purebred cattle purchases along with continued AI have influenced the genetics of the herd as it stands today. A major milestone was the purchase of Black Impact in 1996. He is the sire of the majority of our cowherd. Along the way, fullblood cows were added and their numbers are being increased through the use of embryo transplant. The main goal of our cattle program is to produce bulls that can improve commercial cattle in the important areas of calving ease and growth rate, along with improving muscling and marbling

BLACK IMPACT
Black Impact has had a major influence on our black Limousin herd. He is homozygous black as well as being polled. He has been a national trait leader for growth rate, marbling, as well as at one time ranked second in the entire breed for scrotal size. His daughters are moderate sized with increased volume and have outstanding udder quality. Limited semen is available by contacting us.

RUBY
Ruby was a homozygous black cow that was purchased from the Quail Run herd in Pennsylvania. She has produced several herd bulls as well as daughters seeing use in our herd. She was embryo transplanted to First Choice and Planet Hollywood.

231
231 was purchased from the Bruce Brooks Dispersal in Oklahoma. She has produced two sons currently being used in our herd along with several daughters. She is scheduled to be embryo transplanted in the fall of 2005.

SHEBA
Sheba is a Harvest Olympus x Punch cow. She was bred in the Barbee-Pair herd in Dublin, Texas. A Boventure Farfelu son is our natural service sire for the fullblood herd. He combines good growth rate with breed-leading carcass traits.

BABY DOLL
Baby Doll is a Primo x Punch x Harvest Olympus. She was purchased from the John Harvey Dispersal in Flora, Mississippi. She has been embryo transplanted and AI’ed to both purebred and fullblood bulls. Fullblood embryos are available from a flush to Cold Cash.

KKCC DOLL 652G
KKCC Doll was a featured lot in the Edgemont Dispersal in North Garden, Virginia. She is an Orion daughter of the KKCC Doll Honda cow that is presently in our herd. Doll Honda is bred to Goldenview Krugerrand for a fall calf. After calving in the fall she will enter embryo transplant. Inquiries are welcome.

Sarafina
Purchased in the Cattle Drive Sale. Sired by SOGF Total.
